💡 The Battle of Rocoux was fought in 1746 near Rocourt in Belgium during the War of the Austrian Succession. A French army under Marshal Saxe faced a combined British, Dutch, German and Austrian force led by Charles of Lorraine, Earl Ligonier and Prince Waldeck, and though Saxe fell short of a decisive victory, the battle confirmed French control of the Austrian Netherlands.
