💡 On 25 October 1999, a chartered Learjet bound from Orlando, Florida, to Dallas, Texas, lost cabin pressure early in its flight, and all six people aboard were incapacitated by the lack of oxygen. Flying on autopilot, the aircraft continued northwest for nearly four hours and about 1,500 miles across the United States before running out of fuel and crashing into a field near Aberdeen in South Dakota. The pilots, Michael Kling and Stephanie Bellegarrigue, were among those lost.
