💡 The Battle of Breadfield, fought on 13 October 1479 near the Saxon village of Alkenyér by the river Maros in Transylvania, was among the largest clashes of the Ottoman–Hungarian Wars fought in the region up to that time. A Hungarian army led by Pál Kinizsi, István Báthory, Vuk Branković, and Basarab Laiotă cel Bătrân won an important victory for the Kingdom of Hungary and the Serbian Despotate.
