💡 On 28 October 2016, American Airlines Flight 383 suffered an uncontained engine failure during takeoff from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, igniting a fire on the runway. The crew rejected the takeoff and evacuated everyone aboard the Boeing 767, and although 21 people were injured in the evacuation, there were no fatalities. Investigators later traced the failure to a ruptured disk in the aircraft's engine that pierced a fuel tank in the wing.
