💡 François Mauriac was born in Bordeaux, France, on 11 October 1885, and grew into one of the country's leading novelists, dramatists, poets, and journalists. He joined the Académie française in 1933, received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1952, and was awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour in 1958.
