💡 Akbar was born on 15 October 1542 at Umarkot Fort, and he went on to rule as the third Mughal emperor from 1556 to 1605. Succeeding his father Humayun under the regency of Bairam Khan, he gradually expanded the Mughal Empire across much of the Indian subcontinent through military, political, economic and cultural means. He is remembered as one of the greatest of the Mughal emperors.
