💡 On 15 October 2012, the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro was signed at Malacañang Palace in Manila, the Philippines, calling for the creation of the autonomous political entity of Bangsamoro in place of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. President Benigno Aquino III had described the region it replaced as a failed experiment, and the accord became the first of what would later be grouped as the Bangsamoro Peace Agreements.
