💡 On 20 October 1986, a Tupolev Tu-134A operating Aeroflot Flight 6502 overran the runway while landing at Kuibyshev, present-day Samara, killing 70 of the 94 passengers and crew aboard. Investigators found that the pilot had attempted an instrument-only approach with the cockpit windows curtained, and ruled the crash a case of pilot negligence.
